Petrobras secures subsea pipe supplies

PARIS – Petrobras has awarded Technip a five-year frame agreement to supply 1,400 km (870 mi) flexible pipes.

The estimated value of the contract is $2.1 billion. Deliveries should start in 2013.

Technip’s scope includes more than 150 types and diameters of risers, flowlines, and associated equipment and accessories. Deliveries will be spread over the contract period.

Flexible pipes will be produced at the company’s existing plant in Vitoria and at its new facility under construction in Açu, Brazil.
