Petrobras reports spill during well test offshore Santos basin

RIO DE JANEIRO – Petrobras has detected a production string rupture at the FPWSO Dynamic Producer. The vessel is conducting the Carioca Nordeste extended well test in the Santos basin presalt.

An estimated 160 bbl of oil was spilled. The well was automatically shut down by the monitoring system and is secure.

Petrobras set its Emergency Plan into action immediately. All resources needed to collect the oil from the sea and the residual oil from the top of the column have been put into motion.

The base cause of the spill is under investigation.
