OIG appoints CEO, vice chairman

SINGAPORE – Offshore Installation Group has appointed Steve Preston as CEO, and John Smith as executive vice chairman.

Preston has more than 35 years of industry experience and a background in commercial negotiations, engineering, and project management. He is a past president and active board member of the International Marine Contractors Association.

Smith is a chartered mechanical engineer with 30 years of international oil and gas experience from bases in the UK, Norway, and Australia. He was the inaugural CEO and a director of Subsea7. Smith preceded Preston as president of the International Marine Contractors Association.
