Ofon Phase 2 under way off Nigeria

Total and NNPC have started the second phase of the Ofon field development offshore Nigeria.

PARIS – Total and NNPC have started the second phase of the Ofon field development offshore Nigeria.

Construction and installation contracts have been awarded for Ofon Phase 2, which is due onstream in 2014. Phase 2 is designed to lift production to 90,000 boe/d by means of four new platforms - two production installations, a processing installation, and anaccommodation platform.

The field is in Oil Mining Lease (OML) 102, 65 km (40.4 mi) offshore Nigeria in 40 m (131 ft) water depth.

Most of the development focuses on recovering natural gas, which will be compressed and exported to shore.
