Leiv Eiriksson inked in for Norway wells

HAMBURG, Germany – RWE Dea Norge has secured a rig to drill three wells in the North Sea and the Norwegian Sea during 2013-15.

The company is part of a consortium coordinated by Rig Management Norway.

The consortium has contracted Ocean Rig UDW’s fifth-generation semi Leiv Eiriksson to drill a total of 15 wells over three years. The contract includes three extension options of six wells each - operations will start in Norwegian waters this fall.

RWE Dea’s program will be a mixture of exploration and appraisal wells.
