ABERDEEN, UK – Iona Energy has contracted ADIL to provide management support for development of the Kells field in the UK North Sea.

Iona completed acquisition of block 3/8d containing the Kells (ex-Staffa) oil field last month.

ADIL will support the pre-sanction phase of the development project. Work started in December and should take up to six months to complete, to be followed potentially by a further execution phase.

Peter Campbell, commercial manager at Iona Energy in Aberdeen, said: “The Kells development represents a key milestone for us in becoming a North Sea operator and is an excellent addition to our portfolio.

“With a 100% operated interest in this asset, we are driving hard to get to first oil as quickly, efficiently and safely as possible.”
