HOUSTON – Hess has contracted INTECSEA and WorleyParsons to provide front-end engineering and design (FEED) for the Equus project in the WA-390-P permit on Australia’s Northwest Shelf.

The FEED relates to the topsides and floating system.

INTECSEA Houston will undertake the naval architecture, hull structure, mooring, and riser- related scope, while WorleyParsons Perth will provide project management and engineering services for the topsides supported by the group’s Kuala Lumpur office.

Previously INTECSEA has conducted various other studies for Western Australia offshore projects, and the company says it is familiar with metocean, geotechnical, and regulatory requirements for the region.

It was also involved in the Equus Pre-FEED program. Hess previously awarded the SURF FEED to Wood Group Kenny.
