MOSCOW – Construction is under way of a compressor station in Portovaya, northern Russia which will handle gas supplies for the second Nord Stream pipeline in the Baltic Sea.

To date, says operator Gazprom, the main process equipment with total capacity of 156 MW has been assembled at three gas compressor units. Flowlines and power supply systems are currently being installed, and the gas treatment unit throughput is being increased.

The new facilities should be completed this summer.
