CALGARY, Canada – The FPSO for Ithaca Energy’s Athena field in the UK North Sea has departed Dubai Dry Docks World, accompanied by a dedicated guard vessel.
All the BW Athena’s criticalproduction equipment was run and fully tested prior to the departure in order to minimize the period between arrival in the field and first oil.
Once on location, the vessel will hook up to the pre-installed production system, marking completion of the development phase.
Athena expects first production early this spring, building to around 22,000 b/d of oil.
