Wintershall cleared for Norwegian Sea well

OSLO, Norway – Wintershall has authorization to drill an appraisal well in license 475 BS/CS in the Norwegian Sea.

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate approved the drilling program, which will be performed by the semisub Borgland Dolphin after it has completed exploratory well 6507/6-4A for E.ON Ruhrgas in PL 350.

Wintershall’s license consists of parts of blocks 6406/3, 6407/1, and 6507/10. The well will be drilled about 10-km (6 mi) northwest of the Tyrihans field.
