Technip assigned Norwegian North Sea field tie-ins

Statoil has awarded Technip two contracts for subsea installations in the North Sea with a total value of around $70 million.

Statoil has awarded Technip two contracts for subsea installations in the North Sea with a total value of around $70 million.

These are for theVilje South and Visund North developments in respective water depths of 120 and 385 m (393/1,263 ft).

Technip will be responsible for:

· Welding and installation of a 10-km (6.2-mi) production flowline

· Subsea equipment installation and tie-ins

· Umbilical installation and tie-ins.

The company’s operating center in will execute the contracts. Flowline welding will be performed at Technip’s spoolbase in Orkanger, Norway, whileApache II will handle pipelay in mid-2013.
