DUBLIN, Ireland – Providence Resources’ UK subsidiary PR Singleton has been awarded an exploration license over block 103/1 in the St George’s Channel basin, offshore western Wales.

The block contains Marathon Oil’s undeveloped Dragon gas discovery, and is adjacent to the Providence-operated license SEL 1/07 in Irish waters.

Providence has mapped Dragon as extending into the Irish permit. The company says it can now move forward with drilling of a planned appraisal well.
