Saipem has awarded FoundOcean two North Sea pile grouting contracts for a total of five jacket structures, installation of which should start during the first half of this year.

Operations will be performed using Saipem’s crane vessel S7000.

The first award calls for pile sleeve grouting for three jackets as part of planned extension works. Two of the jackets have four legs with three pile sleeves per leg, while the third jacket is a four-legged steel structure with one pile sleeve per leg.

The project is in the southern Norwegian North Sea in water depths of 70-80 m (229-262 ft). A 10-man crew will be mobilized for the grouting operations.

FoundOcean’s second award relates to two four-legged jackets: one has two pile sleeves per leg, the other one pile sleeve per leg.

The field is in the UK central North Sea in water depths of 75-82 m (246-269 ft). Again, a 10-man crew will undertake the grouting program.

For both projects, the connection between the pile and the sleeve will be effected by injecting CEM1 type 52.5N cement and seawater grout into the annuli.

For the jackets, a conventional displacement grouting system has been designed, with subsea primary, secondary, and tertiary grout inlets to the sleeves. On all the jackets the grout lines will incorporate FoundOcean male ROV subsea grout connectors.
