DTI to supply motion compensation packages for Chinese drillships

HOUSTON – Drilling Technological Innovations has been contracted to supply motion compensation packages for Opus Offshore’s Tiger 1 and Tiger 2, the first drillships to be built in China.

The drillships are being constructed under a turnkey contract by Shanghai Shipyard Co.

The motion compensation package includes DTI’s slim-design single wireline tensioners with 200,000-lb capacity at mid-stroke, advanced riser recoil system, full tensioner system controls, and crown-mounted compensator.
