CALGARY, Canada -- Valiant Causeway has approval from the UK Department of Energy and Climate to develop the Causeway  field in UK northern North Sea block 211/23d.

According to partner Antrim Energy, the proposed scheme calls for one production well and one water injection well in the East and Far East fault panels using existing wells drilled during the appraisal phase.

The producer will be completed with dual electrical submersible pumps. First oil is expected in mid-2012, building to an average level of 8,400 b/d.

Production will be transported to and processed at the TAQA-operatedCormorant North platform, then exported to the Sullom Voe terminal on Shetland Island.
