MOSCOW – ITERA Oil and Gas has contracted SHELF Marine Technologies Center for a drilling feasibility study in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea.

This concerns an engineering solution for what ITERA calls an ‘optimal type of foundation - type of a drilling rig’ to drill an exploratory well on offshore block 21.

TsMT SHELF, an engineering division of Caspian Energy Group (CEG), won the international tender announced by ITERA in October.

ITERA representatives have also discussed CEG’s capabilities to build field infrastructure facilities in the Turkmen sector.

Gennady Skidanov, first deputy chairman of ITERA, said: “High engineering and production potential of the Caspian Energy Group, and geographical affinity of the group’s shipyards to a potential field, create favorable conditions for further co-operation and promising interaction in creating project elements for block 21.”
