Offshore staff
VLISSINGEN, the Netherlands – Nexen Petroleum UK has contracted Heerema Fabrication Group (HFG) to supply two platform jackets for the Golden Eagle development in the UK central North Sea.
HFG will fabricate a 6,000-ton wellhead platform jacket and a 6,000-ton jacket for the production utilities quarters, with work due to get under way in February.
Both jackets will be 130 m (426 ft) tall with a foot print of 45 x 45 m (147 x 147 ft). They should be ready for transportation to the offshore location, 43 mi (69 km) from Aberdeen, in spring 2013.
HFG also supplied the PS jacket to Nexen for the fourth Buzzard platform in the same sector.
