COPENHAGEN, Denmark – The Danish Energy Agency (DEA) has updated its five-year forecast of Denmark’s oil and gas production, exploration investments, operations, and gas transportation.

In 2011, oil production is expected to total 13.2 MMcm (around 228,000 boe/d), 7% down on the figure for 2010.

However, the anticipated production is 0.6 MMcm, or 5% higher, compared to DEA’s previous forecast in its annual report in June. This is mainly due to increased production from the Halfdan and Tyra field centers in the North Sea.

Danish natural gas production should total 5.6 billion Nm3 (normal cubic meters) this year, a 21% decline from last year’s total. But the new figure is again up 17%, compared with the forecast in June.

DEA expects production to decline toward 2013 and then increase to 4.5 billion Nm3 in 2015.
