LONDON -- The semisub Ocean Guardian has completed coring and logging operations at Rockhopper Exploration’s latest exploration/appraisal well in the offshore North Falkland basin.

Side track well 14/15-4z (drilled roughly 12.5m, or 41 ft, from the main well bore) reached a TD of 2,555 m (8,382 ft) MD. It will now be plugged and abandoned.

A total of 115 m (377 ft) of core was cut through the hydrocarbon-bearing Beverley, Casper South, Casper, and Sea Lion reservoirs, lifting the amount of core cut throughout the drilling campaign to 455 m (1,493 ft).

This well completes Rockhopper’s commitments to earn its 60% interest and operatorship of license PL004b.
