Brazil calls on Chevron to shut in one Frade well

SAN RAMON, CaliforniaChevron Brasil Upstream Frade Ltda says the National Petroleum Agency of Brazil has ordered one out of a total of 11 production wells and four water injection wells at the Frade FPSO to be shut in.

Chevron says it will respect the decision and respond to the agency’s requests for more information. The company also adds that in response to the reported H2S gas from the well that it regularly monitors for the gas and has safety systems in place to protect employees, contractors, and operations.
