SOCO targets postsalt prospect off Congo (Brazzaville)

LONDON – The semisub ENSCO 5003 has spudded the Makouala Marine-1 exploration well in block Marine XIV offshore Congo (Brazzaville). SOCO International is the operator.

According to partner Lundin Petroleum, the planned depth is around 2,700 m (8,858 ft) below mean sea level. The well is targeting a postsalt Sendji formation reservoir within a four-way dip closed structure.

Drilling should last around 30 days.
