Offshore staff

SALISBURY, UK – Coring operations have been completed at Rockhopper Exploration’s latest well in the offshore North Falkland basin.

Side track well 14/10-9z was drilled by the semsiub Ocean Guardian to TD of 2,600 m (8,530 ft). A total 60 m (197 ft) of core was cut through the Casper and Sea Lion structures, lifting the total volume of core extracted during the entire drilling campaign to 340 m (1,115 ft).

In addition, a further set of formation pressure test points and samples were taken over the Kermit reservoir. According to Rockhopper, these indicate residual oil saturation.

The well will be P&A’d.

The next in the series of wells will be on license PL004b, where Rockhopper recently became operator following a farm-in deal with Desire Petroleum.

This well will probably target the most southerly extent of the Sea Lion Main Complex and also the Beverley prospect.
