RIO DE JANEIRO – Petrobras reports that oil and natural gas output in Brazil for October averaged 2.4 MMboe/d, a 3.3% increase over previous-year levels. However, production remained stable in comparison with September this year, as a result of a scheduled maintenance shutdown on platform P-35.

The company says its foreign fields produced 247,594 boe/d. This takes Petrobras total output in October to 2.6 MMboe/d, up 2.9% over the previous-year levels.

Oil production from domestic fields reached 2.0 MMboe/d, up 3.2% over output for October 2010. Natural gas output from domestic fields reached 56.9 MM cu m/d (2 tcf/d), an increase of 3.8% on the figure for October 2010.

October’s foreign production figure reached 247,594 boe/d, a 3.8% on September 2011 as a result of production normalization in Akpo fields (Nigeria) and the Austral basin (Argentina), and the EWT in the Coulomb field (United States).

Output of oil alone in foreign fields was 146,272 boe/d, up 4.7% over the previous month. Foreign natural gas output was 17.2 MM cu m/d (607 MMcf/d), up 2.4% on the September figure. This was due to increased output from the Austral basin, as well as the EWT in the Coulomb field.
