Newbuild drillship ready for duty offshore Brazil

BERGEN, Norway – Deep Sea Metro has taken delivery of the drillship Deepsea Metro II from Hyundai Heavy Industries.

Deepsea Metro II is described is a sixth generation ultra-deepwater drillship that, according to Odfjell, is equipped with the latest technology and with a focus on zero discharge and other green features. Its first campaign will be for Petrobras off Brazil.

This is the second of two ultra-deepwater drillships ordered by Deep Sea Metro. Metrostar Group has a 60% ownership in Deepsea Metro I and II and Odfjell Drilling 40%.

Odfjell is also responsible for construction follow-up, management, and operation of the vessels.
