ExxonMobil extends contract for West Aquarius rig

HAMILTON, Bermuda – ExxonMobil has extended for two years a contract with Seadrill for the ultra-deepwater semisubmersible drilling rig West Aquarius. The contract extension is valued at $422 million, including mobilization and preparation.

The rig, currently in Asia, is expected to spend the extension period in the North Atlantic.

ExxonMobil has the option to extend the contract for two more years beyond this.
