HOUSTON – Hyperdynamics Corp. reports that CGGVeritas has started the planned 3D deepwater seismic survey offshore the Republic of Guinea.

The Oceanic Endeavour is scheduled to cover 4,000 sq km just southwest and adjacent to the 2010 3D survey for Hyperdynamics. The new survey targets several possible deepwater fans in the equatorial Atlantic margin identified earlier.

"The deep water 3D survey will utilize CGGVeritas' BroadSeis broadband solution, which is expected to provide a clearer and more detailed image of the subsurface,” said Ray Leonard, Hyperdynamics CEO. “This 3D survey is a critical next step in our ongoing Guinea exploration campaign, one that should further de-risk our acreage and help us identify the most promising deep water locations for future drilling."
