TGS to run 3D seismic survey off northwest Australia

PERTH, Australia – TGS plans to begin acquiring new multi-client 3D seismic data in November offshore northwest Australia.

The 9,700 sq km (3,745 sq mi) survey is over the Exmouth Plateau in Carnarvon basin adjacent to existing natural gas discoveries. It covers newly available acreage in blocks WA-364-P, WA-365-P, and WA-367-P.

The seismic data will be acquired by the M/V Viking Vision and will be complete in 1Q 2012. A fasttrack volume will be available to the industry in 2Q 2012 with final data available for the full survey in 1Q 2013.
