LIMASSOL, Cyprus – The drilling rig Songa Mercur should start demobilization later this month from eastern Russia, after completing a program for Gazflot LLC offshore Sakhalin Island.

Contractor Songa Offshore says the rig will proceed directly to the Malaysian sector to start a 90-day, two-well program for Petronas Carigali.

Another of the company’s rigs, Songa Venus, also is booked to work for Petronas in Malaysia starting Oct. 15.

Songa Delta continues to operate for Wintershall/Det norske oljeselskap offshore Norway. Later this month it will undergo a planned Special Periodic Survey period at CCB base outside Bergen, Norway, expected to last around 40 days, before resuming work for the same clients.

Songa Eclipse is due to mobilize to Angola to start a new contract on Oct. 10.
