NZOG lines up seismic vessel for Tunisia

WELLINGTON, New Zealand – New Zealand Oil and Gas (NZOG) has secured a seismic vessel for a program on its Diodore permit offshore Tunisia, due to start in December.

The Diodore concession, awarded in June, covers 1,200 sq km (463 sq mi) in the Gulf of Gabes, and is surrounded by discovered and producing oil and gas fields.

Under the terms of the two-year prospecting permit, NZOG must acquire 350 km (217 mi) of new 2D seismic data.

However, the company plans to shoot a total of 460 km (286 mi) of seismic lines, to allow tie-ins with neighboring wells, and to speed up a decision on committing to drill.
