Gazprom records further find in Sakhalin III

MOSCOW – Gazprom has discovered a new field offshore Sakhalin Island, within the Mynginskaya geological structure in the Kirinsky prospect.

The exploration well flowed gas and condensate, and is currently undergoing testing.

This is Gazprom’s second gas/condensate discovery in the Kirinsky prospect in the Sakhalin III concession, following the 260 bcm/29.9 MMton Yuzhno-Kirinskoye in September 2010. Sakhalin III also takes in the Vostochno-Odoptinsky and Ayashsky licensed blocks.

Natural gas produced from these fields is scheduled for exported to mainland Russia via the newly installed Sakhalin – Khabarovsk – Vladivostok transmission system.

Gazprom’s subsidiary Gazflot is the geological exploration operator.
