Siemens opens subsea technology center in Norway

Siemens Energy has opened its new subsea technology center in Trondheim, Norway.

ERLANGEN, Germany – Siemens Energy has opened its new subsea technology center in Trondheim, Norway.

The new 10,000 sq m (108,000 sq ft) facility will be the global research and development center for the company’s subsea oil and gas business.

The company says the research and development center will be part of the Power Electronics Center, already located in Trondheim. This center focuses on development, engineering and production for subsea grid equipment, drilling and marine propulsion systems, and tailor-made converter systems.
