ABERDEEN, UK – Wild Well Control will introduce its Global Subsea Well Containment System (GSWCS) this week, claimed to be the only dedicated emergency response system of its kind available for immediate deployment anywhere.
The company will also officially open its new Aberdeen International Business Unit.
Both have been created to better support clients in the event of major subsea blowouts.
Wild Well Control has invested around $37-40 million in the equipment for the GSWCS. The system’s four main elements are well capping, subsea containment, debris removal, and subsea dispersant, all designed based on recent experiences in the Gulf of Mexico.
The company claims to have been the primary responder to more than 80% of well control incidents globally, and has helped manage and cap hundreds of wells in recent years.
Last year it worked as part of BP’s extended team to help cap the Macondo well in the Gulf of Mexico. Some elements of the final well control solution were designed and fabricated during the incident.
