PARIS – ZADCO has awarded the NPCC/Technip consortium a $500-million EPC contract for the Satah full field offshore development project.

Satah is 200 km (124 mi) northwest of Abu Dhabi. The aim of the project is to maximize crude oil production and oil recovery by reducing the wellheads’ back pressure and via new gas injection and gas lift facilities.

The project scope involves offshore brownfield works to the existing wellhead platforms and production manifold platform; installation of infield pipelines; and modifications and installation of new facilities at the onshore Satah plant at Zirku Island.

Technip's operating center in Abu Dhabi will handle engineering and procurement activities, with NPCC performing construction and installation activities for offshore works.

The companies will jointly manage the onshore construction program.
