SUBIACO, Australia – Cooper Energy says a 300-sq km (116-sq mi) 3D acquisition program has been completed in the Hammamet permit offshore Tunisia.

This covered the Tazerka oilfield and Kasserine prospect areas.

A 600-sq km (231-sq mi) 3D survey is now under way in the nearby Cooper-operated Nabeul with the contracted vessels mobilizing from the Tunisian port of Sousse.

The program will be acquired over the western portion of the permit, adjacent to the Birsa and Oudna (producing) oilfields, using the high-resolution CGGVeritas BroadSeis technology.

Cooper’s aim is to mature the Alpha, Gamma, and Delta leads into drillable prospects.

Acquisition should take 50 days, with the processed 3D data likely to be available for interpretation next spring.
