ROTTERDAM, the Netherlands – The keel for Fairstar Heavy Transport’s 50,000 dwt semisubmersible heavy-lift vessel Finesse has been laid at the dry dock facility in Qidong, China.

Contractor Guangzhou Shipbuilding International (GSI) is also building the sister ship Forte for Fairstar.

Willem Out, Fairstar's COO, said: "With the Forte now floating at quayside, the Finesse is now under way in the dry dock.

“Two hundred and forty blocks of the 272 total required for this design have been constructed and delivered to the shipyard. GSI is already ahead of the scheduled time required to produce the same amount of blocks for the Forte.”
