TEHRAN, Iran – An Indian delegation will travel to Iran for talks on construction of a new gas export line, according to Iranian news service Shana.

Hosain Bidarmaghz, head of the National Iranian Gas Export Co., told Shana the pipeline would take gas from Iran to India via international waters.

He added: “India is interested in construction of a seabed gas pipeline in order not to pay any transit fee for gas imports.”

An alternative route, he said, “includes construction of a gas pipeline between India and Oman and linking Iran’s gas pipeline to it in the midway in the international waters.”
