ABERDEEN, UK – TCO In-Well Technologies UK has completed a glass barrier system well opening application on the Forties field for Apache North Sea.
The operation involved deployment of TCO UK’s TDP-I glass plug on the Forties Delta platform in well FD3-5. The plug was used to isolate the reservoir, allowing the operator to test for integrity prior to opening the well.
Joel Rodriguez, senior completions engineer at Apache, said: “The TCO TDP-I plug, set at almost 4,000 m (13,123 ft) at 71°, opened on the prescribed pressure cycle, eliminating the need for an additional intervention run.”
