Dolphin Geophysical newbuild vessel gets name

Dolphin Geophysical says its newbuild vessel will be called the M/V Polar Duchess.

BERGEN, Norway – Dolphin Geophysical says its newbuild vessel will be called the M/V Polar Duchess. Dolphin also reports that it expects delivery in 4Q 2011, in time for work in the North Sea at the end of 1Q 2012.

Polar Duchess is a sister to the Polar Duke which is a high-end 3D vessel capable of towing 14 streamers at 100 m separation. Both vessels carry Sercel SSAS Sentinel streamers and have a bollard pull of 210 metric tons (231.5 tons).
