Chevron gets approval for further Shetland well

Britain’s Energy Minister Charles Hendry has approved Chevron’s request to drill the deepwater Aberlour exploration well west and north of Shetland, using the drillship Stena Carron.

ABERDEEN, UK – Britain’s Energy Minister Charles Hendry has approved Chevron’s request to drill the deepwater Aberlour exploration well west and north of Shetland, using the drillship Stena Carron.

The government has also approved BP’s development plan for the Kinnoull field in the North Sea, which will tie back to the company’s Andrew platform.

Kinnoul will produce up to 45,000 b/d of oil.
