HOUSTON – CGGVeritas reports completion of processing on its Three Corners Extension Wide-Azimuth survey in the Gulf of Mexico. The deliverables in the multi-client survey include prestack depth migrated VTI RTM, controlled beam, and Kirchhoff volumes.

The survey extends the original Three Corners program to more than 600 blocks in the western GoM in the East Banks and Alaminos Canyon planning areas.

“The images of this advanced wide-azimuth survey provide a step-change in the clarity and detail of the historically difficult-to-image geology of the Alaminos Canyon Area,” said Luc Schlumberger, executive VP of Multi-Client & New Ventures. “We are very encouraged by the first feedback from our clients which is very positive and they are pleased to be able to access this data well in advance of the upcoming lease sale.”

OCS Western Gulf Lease Sale 218 is scheduled for this December.
