SYDNEY, Australia – Buccaneer Energy Ltd. reports that a jackup liftboat is doing wireline workovers on both well in the Pompano field, Gulf of Mexico.

The SL 103229 and SL 103230 wells show declining gas production since going onstream in 2008, producing 6.33 bcf since then, but dropping to less than 500,000 cf now, Buccaneer says. The drop is due to natural depletion of reservoir pressure plus some instances of sand getting into the production tubing.

Operations are expected to last about two weeks.
