TEHRAN, Iran -- Pars Oil and Gas Co. (POGC) has brought onstream six new wells from Phase X of the South Pars field in the Persian Gulf. These should increase production from the field by 600 MMcf/d.

Managing director Mosa Souri told Iranian new service Shana that all remaining Phase X wells should be onstream by October.

Seven wells from Phase IX, also under development, are on line, he added, with the remaining five set to enter service before the winter.

Souri said these were the first two phases to be developed entirely by Iranian manufacturers and contractors, referring to the offshore and onshore facilities.

The contributions from Phase X, he added, will allow more than one-third of the field’s sour gas from phases VI, VII, and VIII to be redirected for injection to enhance recovery at the onshore Aghajari oil field.
