OSLO, Norway – Statoil has consent from Petroleum Safety Authority Norway for temporary use of the Navion Europa vessel for oil storage on the Volve field.

Volve is in the southern part of the Norwegian North Sea, 8 km (4.97 mi) north of Sleipner Øst, in a water depth of roughly 80 m (262 ft).

The field was developed using the Mærsk Inspirer jack-up process and drilling platform, with the Navion Saga vessel providing oil storage.

However, Navion Saga needs new anchor chains, necessitating the use of Navion Europa until mid-October.
