ZUG, Switzerland – Noble Corp. reports its semisubmersible drilling rig Noble Paul Romano has won a six-well contract from Gujarat State Petroleum Corp. Ltd. for work offshore Egypt.

The rig has been idle in the Gulf of Mexico since June 2010 and will mobilize to the eastern Mediterranean this October.

The contract has an option for up to four additional wells.

Noble also says PEMEX has extended its contract for the semi Noble Max Smith in the GoM for five months starting this August. The rig has been offshore Mexico since 2008.

The Noble Driller semi has mobilized to a location in the GoM under a contract that runs through June 2013.

The jackup Noble George Sauvageau has landed a one-year contract from Wintershall to work in the southern part of the North Sea. That commits the rig through 2012, says Noble.
