HOUSTON -- Deep Offshore Technology (DOT) International has recently announced its preliminary conference program, which includes presentations from industry leaders on the world’s most high-profile deepwater projects and technological advancements. Presented by Offshore magazine and owned and produced by PennWell, DOT will be held in New Orleans, Louisiana at the Hilton Riverside, Oct. 11 – 13, 2011.
DOT’s three-day conference program will kick off with an opening plenary session featuring a welcome and introduction by David Paganie, Offshore magazine Chief Editor and DOT Conference Director, followed by opening remarks by DOT’s Advisory Board Chairman, Mr. James Britch, Senior Facilities Engineering Advisor, Hess Corporation.
The Keynote Address will be presented by Mr. Stan Bond, VP of Development – Offshore Americas and West Africa, of Hess Corporation. Mr. Bond possesses over 30 years of experience focused on the Gulf of Mexico shelf and other notable deepwater projects. Prior to joining Hess in February 2011, Bond served as BP’s project general manager, Floating Systems Program, for the company’s deepwater Developments organization. While at BP, he was accountable for the engineering and execution of the Macondo Capping Systems. The opening day is scheduled to host a series of presentations from operating company executives involved in high-profile deepwater projects: Perdido, Cascade/Chinook, Jubilee, and Who Dat.
U.S. Senator from Louisiana, Senator Mary Landrieu, has been invited to present “A View from Washington.” The Opening Plenary Session will conclude with an industry forecast, presented by Mr. Steven R. Kopits, Managing Director, New York, Douglas Westwood. Mr. Kopits has recently led projects on produced water; subsea trenching and pipelay; spar platforms in the Gulf of Mexico; enhanced oil recovery in China; and other projects related to oil fields services and technologies.
A panel discussion on the subject of asset integrity closes the first day. It will be moderated by Shell.

•ENI’s Engr. Stefano Magi, presenting “Marginal Deepwater Developments: Innovative Engineerig Approach Makes it Possible”
A new addition to DOT in 2011 is the Offshore Risk Management Forum, which focuses on political and regulatory considerations, drilling safety, contract risk and insurance issues, and effective crisis management. The oil and gas industry’s foremost experts will gather for a one-day series of panel discussions covering the changing landscape of regulatory and political risk, operational risk, contract risk, and other forms of risk specific to the offshore industry.
