Kreuz gets Seaeye Cougar ROV after Shell Brunei contract

Kreuz Subsea has added a Saab Seaeye Cougar XT ROV to its fleet after winning a five-year contract with Shell in Brunei.

SINGAPORE – Kreuz Subsea has added a Saab Seaeye Cougar XT ROV to its fleet after winning a five-year contract with Shell in Brunei.

The Cougar XT configuration chosen by Kreuz includes a Tritech Super SeaKing Sonar, Kongsberg high-definition/low-light camera, dual five function heavy duty manipulator, and CP proximity probe and contact probe.

A tether management system with a stainless steel cage and 200 m (656 ft) of tether is also supplied, along with its own Seaeye mini wide-angle black and white camera. An A-frame launch and recovery system is included with 1,600 m (5,250 ft) of armored umbilical.

The whole system comes with its own purpose-built air-conditioned control and workshop container.
