GoM back to work following Tropical Storm Don

As of Monday, Aug. 1, personnel had returned to all the manned production platforms in the Gulf of Mexico that were evacuated for Tropical Storm Don.

NEW ORLEANS – As of Monday, Aug. 1, personnel had returned to all the manned production platforms in the Gulf of Mexico that were evacuated for Tropical Storm Don.

The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation, and Enforcement (BOEMRE) Hurricane Response Team said all 617 platforms and 62 drilling rigs are back up are returning to operation.

The storm caused 2.3% (31.964 b/d) of the oil production and 0.9% (46 MMcf/d) of the natural gas production in the GoM to be shut in as a precaution for the storm. That production will flow again once inspections of the shut-in facilities are complete.
