Danish well proves further gas, condensates for PA Resources

STOCKHOLM, Sweden – A side track of PA Resources’ (PAR) recent Broder Tuck discovery offshore Denmark has confirmed an additional hydrocarbon column.

The initial well (5504/20-4), drilled in license 12/06, 10 km (6.2 mi) south of the Gorm field in the Danish North Sea, encountered hydrocarbon pay in the primary Mid-Jurassic target during July. It has since been side tracked to a location 680 m (2,231 ft) from the initial well, with the Mid-Jurassic sandstone again revealing hydrocarbons, although less well developed than in the initial wellbore.

PAR says it has now established a gross hydrocarbon column of at least 360 m (1,181 ft) from the crest of the structure down to the base of the Mid-Jurassic sandstone in this side track.

Sample analyses from the initial exploration well have also confirmed a high-quality gas with condensate of roughly 44º API gravity at a ratio of 80-90 bbl of condensate per MMcf of gas.

Following plugging and abandonment of the well, the Ensco 70 rig will transfer 8 km (4.9 mi) to the south to drill the Lille John prospect for PAR.
