WASHINGTON, D.C. – The US Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation, and Enforcement (BOEMRE) has added features to its online presence designed to help operators “improve the quality and completeness of their applications, which will decrease processing delays,” according to Michael R. Bromwich, agency director.
BOEMRE has added eWells to its online applications system. The new feature allows operators to locate their applications within the processing system.
Another new online resource aims to help operators on federal permits to improve the accuracy of exploration plan and development operation coordination document submissions.
“Our goal is to reduce the amount of back and forth with plan and permit applications and to help the industry learn from the best practices that many operators have developed to submit successful applications,” said Bromwich. “That will result in higher quality applications in the first instance and reduce the need for them to be returned to operators.”
