Atwood Eagle contracts to Chevron Australia

HOUSTON – Atwood Oceanics Inc. says it has received a six-month contract from Chevron Australia Pty Ltd. The day rate is approximately $370,000. The Atwood Eagle now has firm contractual commitments expected to extend through July 2012.

The semisubmersible drilling rig is capable of work in as much as 5,000 ft (1,524 m) of water and drilling depths of 25,000 ft (7,620 m).
